Not every beam end needs to connect to another component, and the endpiece (with holes) is designed for exactly those terminating points, capping the beam cleanly while still offering fixing options through its pre-drilled holes. Unlike a solid cap, the endpiece (with holes) allows hardware to be attached directly through the connector, making it useful for mounting accessories, brackets, or additional fittings at the end of a run without needing a separate joining piece.
